Armenia has banned unlicensed companies from using gambling terms such as "casino", "lottery" and "bookmaking activities". The amendments to the Law on Regulation of Gaming Activities take effect on 8 February 2027. The ban covers company names, trade names, trademarks, website domains and physical signs, and advertising by unlicensed operators is prohibited entirely. What is banned
Companies without an Armenian licence can no longer use "gambling", "online gambling", "casino", "gaming hall", "lottery" or "bookmaking activities" — including translations — in company names, trade names, trademarks, domains or signage. Licensed operators may use terms that match their licence type.
Fines and enforcement
- Fine: 500,000 AMD (about $1,400) per violation.
