Georgia has fully launched its international licence for online casinos and sportsbooks. After a soft launch in summer, operators can now obtain an iGaming permit to serve foreign players only. It positions itself as an alternative to offshore licences such as Curaçao and Anjouan, with a 5% GGR tax and gambling-coded payment processing.
Key terms
- Scope: online casino, slots and sports betting for foreign players only; Georgian citizens cannot play.
- Term: 5 years, one licence per website.
- Tax: 5% of GGR plus a 1% GGR regulatory monitoring fee.
- Annual fee: GEL 100,000 (about $36k), per industry reports.
- Profit tax: not due while profits are reinvested.
No office required
Operators need a Georgian legal entity, a director, a local address and backup servers, but no office or local staff.
Banking and MCC 7995
The programme's representative says licensees get Georgian bank accounts and card acquiring under MCC 7995, the official gambling merchant code, and that banks have started onboarding operators. Crypto is not part of the offer yet.
Who does what
Random Systems Georgia handles technical control, certification and monitoring of gaming systems. Georgia International Strategic Group (GISG) markets the licence to foreign operators and supports applications (14–30 days claimed). GISG is not a state regulator, and its banking and remote-work claims are not yet independently confirmed.
Why affiliates should care
If the licence takes off, expect new casino and betting brands in affiliate programs, especially for CIS and Central Asian GEOs. Stable operator payments mean fewer lost deposits and better FTD conversion. More updates on terms are expected in October.
