The Telegram 13.0.3 beta for Android has a new feature that turns a voice message into text before you send it. Until now, you could only transcribe voice messages you received; now the sender can do it too. Kod.ru reports on the change.
How it works

- Start recording a voice message as usual.
- While recording, slide your finger up from the microphone icon.
- Tap the "Aa" button next to pause. Telegram transcribes the recording.
- Choose what the recipient gets: the text or the original audio.
You can continue the recording or trim an unwanted part, after which Telegram offers to convert it to text again. In effect, it's handy dictation right in the chat: say what you mean, check the text and send that instead of a two-minute voice note.
Who can use it
Only Telegram Premium subscribers can use the feature. It's still in testing, so it may be buggy, and there's no word on when it will reach the stable version or other platforms.
The same beta includes an experimental voice message settings section with improved recording: RNNoise neural noise suppression separates voice from background noise before the audio is encoded.
Why it matters for affiliate marketers
- Faster teamwork. Dictate a task, a report or creative feedback and send it as text that's easy to reread and search in the chat.
- Easier with clients and affiliate programs. Not everyone likes voice messages. Now you can say your thought on the go, and the recipient sees clean text.
- Another argument for Premium. Telegram keeps packing useful features into the subscription. If you work in the messenger a lot, Premium is getting more worthwhile.
Telegram has been testing a lot lately. This week, for example, interactive HTML messages were found in the macOS beta. We'll see which of these make it to release.
