Dating is one of the few verticals where a beginner can start with $50–100 and know within a week whether a campaign works. Leads are cheap, offers accept traffic from almost any country, and affiliate networks provide smartlinks that pick the right dating site for each user automatically. But in 2026, "just run push traffic to SOI" no longer cuts it: platforms have tightened their rules, creatives burn out in days, and networks look harder at lead quality. This guide covers the types of dating offers, the difference between SOI and DOI, payouts by GEO, which traffic sources to use, what Meta, Google and TikTok prohibit, and how to launch your first campaign.
What the dating vertical is in affiliate marketing
The dating vertical covers offers from dating sites and apps. You send a user to a dating service, they sign up or buy a subscription, and the affiliate network pays you for that action. Advertisers range from big mainstream brands to small niche sites for singles over 40 or for a single country.
Why it suits beginners:
- A short funnel. To earn a payout for a sign-up, the user doesn't have to pay anything, only leave an email.
- Fast data. Leads arrive within minutes, so you can tell whether a creative works after the first few hundred clicks.
- Steady demand. Dating is less seasonal than e-commerce, with peaks in winter, around Valentine's Day and at New Year.
- Lots of GEOs. Networks accept traffic from dozens or hundreds of countries, including cheap Tier-3.
If you're still unclear on how offers, landers and payouts fit together, start with our guide to building a working affiliate funnel.
Types of dating offers: mainstream, casual, adult and AI dating
Your first decision is which type of dating to promote. It determines your traffic sources, your creatives and your ban risk.
- Mainstream: sites for serious relationships, marriage or shared interests. The most compliant type, and the only one major platforms accept when you follow their rules. The audience is older and more willing to pay, but creative requirements are stricter.
- Casual: no-strings dating. Sign-up conversion is usually higher and the payout per lead lower. Major social networks almost never allow it, so most traffic comes from push, popunder and native.
- Adult dating: 18+ offers with explicit content. Run on adult networks and some ad networks; banned on Meta, Google and TikTok.
- AI dating (AI companions): apps where users chat with an AI character. Revenue comes from subscriptions and paid features, so networks more often pay for the first purchase or offer RevShare. A growing niche in 2026, but platform rules for it are still strict.
The easiest start is mainstream or casual through a smartlink: you see which type converts on your traffic without testing offers one by one.
Dating payout models: SOI, DOI, PPS and RevShare
Dating networks pay for different steps of the user journey. The deeper the step, the higher the payout and the lower the conversion rate.

- SOI (Single Opt-In): you're paid for a one-step sign-up. The user enters an email or phone number and the lead counts. Highest conversion rate, lowest payout.
- DOI (Double Opt-In): you're paid for a confirmed sign-up. The user has to click the link in the email or enter an SMS code. Some people drop off, but the lead pays more and approval is more stable because the advertiser gets a real person.
- PPS / CPS (pay per sale): you're paid when the user buys a subscription or credits. The payout is several times higher than DOI, but you need warm traffic.
- RevShare: a percentage of everything the user pays, sometimes for life. Profitable over the long run with quality traffic, but the money arrives gradually. For a deeper comparison, see our guide to CPA, CPL, CPS, RevShare and Hybrid.
SOI and DOI payouts by GEO
There's no single price list: the payout depends on the advertiser, country, device and the quality of your traffic. Benchmarks from public sources:
| GEO | SOI | DOI | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier-1 (US, UK, Canada, Australia) | $1.50–4 | $3–8+ | Expensive traffic, heavy competition |
| Tier-2 (Europe, parts of Latin America) | from $1 | 1.5–3× SOI | Good balance of click cost and payout |
| Tier-3 (Asia, Africa, parts of LATAM) | cents to $1 | around $1–2 | Cheap tests, lots of bots |
Tier-1 figures come from Affililist's review of dating affiliate programs (June 2026); the Tier-3 benchmark comes from RichAds, which notes most advertisers pay $1+ per lead in Tier-3. Always confirm the exact payout for your source with your affiliate manager: good traffic usually gets more than the public rate.
SOI or DOI: which to choose first
For your first tests, go with SOI: more conversions means you learn faster which creative and source work. Move to DOI once the campaign brings steady sign-ups and you're ready to refine the funnel, for example with a quiz pre-lander that warms users up before they confirm their email. Cheap bulk traffic (popunder, push) suits SOI. Targeted traffic (social, native, search) suits DOI and PPS.
A quick break-even check: if SOI pays $2 and 5 out of 100 clicks sign up, each click earns 5% × $2 = $0.10. So you need clicks cheaper than ten cents, or you lose money. For how to work out EPC, CR and ROI before you spend, see our article on affiliate math.
Best GEOs for dating offers
- Tier-1: US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France. The highest payouts and an audience that pays, but expensive clicks. Go here once you have proven creatives and a testing budget.
- Tier-2: Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Romania, the Baltics, parts of Latin America. Much cheaper clicks and less competition, with decent payouts. A good second step.
- Tier-3: India, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, African countries. The cheapest entry: you can test a dozen ideas for $50. The downside is lots of bot traffic and low payouts.
Mind local law and platform rules. Since August 2025, Google restricts dating ads in 18 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Pakistan, Morocco and Iraq, and TikTok doesn't allow dating app ads in several Middle Eastern markets. In conservative countries, dating offers convert poorly even where they're allowed.
Another lever is a narrow audience within a GEO: dating over 40 or over 50, faith-based dating, specific cities. Niche offers often outperform broad ones because people see something made for them.
Traffic sources for dating offers

Push and In-Page Push
The classic way to start with dating: cheap clicks, fast moderation, CPC pricing. A push looks like a message, so a "you have a new message" angle fits dating well, but don't imitate system notifications, which networks reject. For campaign setup and zone optimization, see our guide to push traffic for affiliate marketing.
Popunder
The offer page opens in a new tab behind the main window. Clicks are cheap (Tier-3 CPM starts at around $0.50) and sign-up conversion is high, but there are many bots. Split mobile and desktop into separate campaigns, and turn on bot filtering and site whitelists right after launch.
Native ads
Ad widgets and sponsored articles on news and entertainment sites. Dating stories and tips that lead to a pre-lander, then to the offer, work well here. Best for mainstream offers and audiences over 35.
Facebook and Instagram
The highest-value audience and the strictest control. Meta allows dating ads only with prior written permission and under separate targeting requirements. Casual and adult offers won't get through. If you want to work with Meta, pick a mainstream offer from an advertiser that has permission, and expect moderation.
Google Ads
Since March 4, 2025, Google has had a dedicated Dating and Companionship policy: advertisers need certification to run dating ads. Compensated dating, mail-order spouses, deceptive dating services and landing-page images that don't represent the site's real users are prohibited outright. Affair, hook-up and fetish sites are restricted. In practice, Google is a source for compliant mainstream offers and certified advertisers.
TikTok, Reels, Shorts and organic short video
Paid dating ads on TikTok must be restricted to audiences aged 18+, go through a TikTok sales rep, and can't promote apps made purely for casual sex; sugar dating is banned entirely. That's why many affiliates use organic short video instead: content about dating, relationships and first dates, with a link in the profile. We cover the setup in our guide to TikTok organic traffic for affiliates.
Telegram, SEO and review sites
Warm traffic for mainstream, DOI and PPS: dating and relationship channels, "best dating apps" comparison sites, advice articles. Slower to set up, but the audience is already interested and more likely to buy. For buying ads in channels, see our guide to Telegram channel ads.
What dating ads can't do: Meta, Google and TikTok rules
Most rejections and bans in dating come from the creative and the lander, not the offer itself. The common rules across major platforms:
- target 18+ only, with no minors and no models who look underage;
- no explicit sexualization: lingerie, focus on bodies, hints at paid sex;
- no promises like "guaranteed hookups" or "girls nearby are waiting for you";
- photos on the lander must reflect the service's real users, not stock models;
- no compensated dating, escort services, sugar dating or mail-order brides;
- no fake system notifications, fake messages from real people or imitation messenger interfaces.
If you need a source without strict moderation, that means push, popunder and adult networks, each with its own rules and its own fight against bots. Don't try to push casual or adult offers through Meta or Google: the ad account will be banned, and the Business Manager with it.
The dating funnel: creative, pre-lander, offer

Dating creatives that work
- Natural photos, not stock. Selfies, everyday clothes, ordinary settings. The age of the people shown matches the audience.
- Localization. Language, slang, names and the local look. A US creative won't work in Poland without adapting it.
- Pain points, not promises. "Tired of swiping with no replies?" or "Dating over 40 without the awkwardness" beat "hundreds of lonely singles near you".
- Rotation. In 2026 dating creatives burn out within days, so keep 3–5 different angles running and add new ones regularly.
For general techniques, the hook → problem → solution formula and AI prompts, see our guide to ad creatives for affiliate marketing.
Pre-landers for dating
A pre-lander warms the user up before sign-up and filters out accidental clicks. What works best in dating:
- A quiz of 3–5 questions: who you're looking for, preferred age, what kind of relationship. People invest in their answers and are more likely to sign up.
- An age gate ("Are you 18+?"), which also filters out junk traffic.
- A short story or tips for native traffic and older audiences.
Keep the pre-lander light: on mobile it should load in under three seconds, and its copy should match the creative's promise. More techniques in our article on pre-landers and how to raise conversion.
Smartlink or direct offer
A smartlink is a single link that sends each user to the offer that best fits their country, device and browser. It's ideal for getting started: you don't have to pick an offer blindly, because the network rotates them for you.
A direct offer pays off once you've found a working campaign: the payout is often higher, you can negotiate custom terms, and you can tailor the pre-lander to a specific dating site. The usual path is to test on a smartlink, see in the stats which offers bring the best EPC, and switch to them directly.
Either way, use a tracker and set up postbacks so you can see conversions by source and creative. Our guide to postbacks and S2S tracking explains how.

How to launch your first dating campaign in 7 steps
- Pick the type and model. To start: mainstream or casual on SOI via a smartlink.
- Pick a GEO. Tier-3 or Tier-2 for cheap tests, Tier-1 once you have budget and experience.
- Pick a source. Push or popunder are the simplest options with no long moderation.
- Prepare 3–5 creatives with different angles, plus one or two pre-landers.
- Set up a tracker and postback so you see sign-ups by zone and creative.
- Set a test budget and a cut-off rule: for example, pause a zone once it spends two lead payouts without a conversion.
- Optimize: pause weak zones and creatives, build a whitelist and scale what's profitable.

Common beginner mistakes in dating
- Running casual or adult offers on Facebook and Google. The result is predictable: a banned account.
- Signing up through your own link. The network treats it as fraud and may ban you without paying.
- Ignoring bots. On push and popunder, this is the main reason for "clicks but no leads". Use bot filtering and watch time on the pre-lander.
- The creative promises one thing, the lander another. Conversion drops and moderation rejects the ad.
- Drawing conclusions too early. 100 clicks tell you nothing; let the campaign gather data.
- Sticking to one network. Compare payouts and approval rates at two or three networks on the same traffic.
Frequently asked questions
What are SOI and DOI in dating?
SOI pays for a one-step sign-up: the user enters an email and the lead counts. DOI pays for a confirmed sign-up, via an email link or an SMS code. DOI pays more but converts less.
How much do dating offers pay per lead?
In Tier-1, SOI usually pays $1.50–4 and DOI $3–8 or more. In Tier-3, payouts start at a few cents and average around $1. The exact rate depends on the advertiser, GEO and traffic quality.
Is dating a good vertical for beginners?
Yes, it's one of the easiest verticals to start with: a short funnel, fast tests and smartlinks that pick the offer for you. Start with SOI on push or popunder in Tier-2 or Tier-3.
Can you run dating offers on Facebook?
Only mainstream offers, and only with Meta's prior written permission, which the advertiser usually holds. Casual and adult dating are not allowed on Facebook or Instagram.
What is a dating smartlink?
A single link from the network that sends each user to the best offer for their country, device and browser. It's handy for testing when you don't yet know which offer will work.
What budget do you need to test dating offers?
On push or popunder in Tier-3, you can draw first conclusions with $50–100. For Tier-1 and social traffic, plan on $200–300 per campaign test.
